Le Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta. Le Women’s WorldTour refermera donc sa mouture 2018 dimanche sur le Paseo del Prado au coeur de la cité madrilène. Cette 3ème édition du Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta, 20ème et donc dernière manche du circuit mondial, proposera de nouveau le tourniquet final de la Vuelta avec une arrivée Plaza Cibeles. Une très forte probabilité d’un sprint massif à l’image de l’an dernier où Jolien D’Hoore s’était jouée du peloton. Quelques incertitudes demeurent au niveau des participantes mais parmi les favorites on peut nommer : Chloe Hosking, Marta Bastianelli, Kirsten Wild, Rachele Barbieri, Roxane Fournier, Emilie Moberg, Monique Van De Ree, Gloria Rodriguez, Lotte Kopecky, Kelly Druyts, Coryn Rivera, Leah Kirchmann, Katie Archibald, Jolien D’Hoore, Giorgia Bronzini et Annette Edmondson. Départ demain 14h15.

Drops Cycling Team. Eva Buurman (Parkhotel Valkenburg-Destil) rejoint pour 2018 la Drops Cycling Team. La Néerlandaise (23 ans) a terminé cette année 3ème du Trofee Maarten Wynants, 4ème à Gotha sur le Tour de Thuringe, 5ème et 6ème d’étape sur l’Emakumeen Bira, 6ème du Grand Prix de Plumelec-Morbihan Dames et 7ème de La Classique Morbihan. Buurman est la seconde recrue de la formation britannique après Molly Weaver (Team Sunweb).

Cervélo-Bigla. La formation allemande Cervélo-Bigla aime Campi Bisenzio, lieu du prologue du Giro della Toscana – Memorial Michela Fanini depuis plusieures années. C’est en effet la troisième victoire consécutive qu’a signé hier Lisa Klein dans la cité toscane. La Sud-Africaine Ashleigh Moolman en 2016 et la Néerlandaise Annemiek Van Vleuten (l’équipe s’appelait alors Bigla Pro Cycling Team) en 2015 l’avaient précédée. – Franck Fruch
