Charlotte Becker (Hitec Products-Birk Sport) s’est adjugée ce matin le Tour de Chongming Island (2.WWT) disputé sur trois jours à Shanghai. L’Allemande a devancé au final l’Australienne Shannon Malseed (Team Tibco-SVB) et la Russe Anastasia Iakovenko (BTC City Ljubljana). Coralie Demay (FDJ-Nouvelle Aquitaine-Futuroscope) s’est classée 5ème.

La 3ème et dernière étape, la City Critérium Race (126 km), a été remportée par Kirsten Wild (Wiggle-High5). Un tourniquet citadin de 11 tours de 11,5 km était donc au programme de ce final, et le peloton qui s’était bien raté la veille, n’avait guère l’intention de recommencer. La course s’en retrouvait donc cadenassée. Les sprints bonifications revenant dès lors aux rapides : 1ère Bronzini 2ème Hosking au km 34 puis les mêmes dans un ordre inversé au km 57. La Hitec Products-Birk Sport et la Team Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank bloquaient parfaitement la troupe pour défendre les places de Lotti Becker (en jaune) et Shannon Malseed (2ème).

Les formations de sprinteuses (Alé Cipollini, Cylance, Mitchelton-Scott, Team Virtu Cycling et Wiggle-High5) embrayaient alors aux 3 km. Inévitable, le sprint massif, toujours houleux sur cette immense avenue, revenait à Kirsten Wild, l’une des malheureuses du 1er jour. La pistarde néerlandaise battait Jolien D’Hoore (Mitchelton-Scott) et Giorgia Bronzini (Cylance Pro Cycling).
